I recently made the official switch from "Actor" to "Voice Actor." I am much happier and feeling very excited about this chapter. If you're curious about some of the projects I voice regularly, my "Voice" page has been updated with some goodies!
So, why? After being on stage for my whole life? And after pursuing an advanced degree in acting? This was an easy, but not easy decision I made, in no small part due to the fact that last year I was (finally) diagnosed with endometriosis, adenomyosis, uterine fibroids, and polycystic ovaries. I've lived with pain since I can remember, but last year my illnesses progressed to the point where I could no longer work on my feet, let alone show up to 8hr shoots or all-night rehearsals. Luckily, voice acting is my true heartspace, and here I stand tall. For all performers with chronic illness I say: don't lose hope! Energy is never lost, only transferred.
